Proposed new Byelaw 8
 
8.   LIMITS OF AUTHORITY


General Authority to purchase, order or enter into a contract / agreement for the supply of goods and services for or on behalf of the Alliance. Expenditure limits apply to both single transactions and a related series of transactions.


8.(a) Expenditure not exceeding £250:
The Treasurer may approve expenditure AND shall ensure the proposed expenditure is necessary & within the objectives of the Alliance set out in paragraph 1 of the constitution AND secondly shall approve the terms of the proposed agreement.


8.1(b) Expenditure exceeding £250 up to £500:
Any two Senior Officers (defined in paragraph 2.1 of the constitution) may approve expenditure AND shall ensure the proposed expenditure is within the objectives of the Alliance set out in paragraph 1 of the constitution AND secondly shall approve the terms of the proposed agreement.


8.(c) Expenditure exceeding £500
Shall be at the discretion of the Management Committee (defined in paragraph 13 of the constitution).


8. (d) Special sums:
8.1 (d) (i) Insurance: Paragraph 11.1 (d) of the constitution & byelaw .7.3(b) require the Hon Secretary to insure / renew insurance, The Hon Treasurer shall authorise payment of the appropriate premiums.
8. (d)(ii) Floats held by the Deputy Hon Treasurer (who is also Membership Secretary) and the Race Control Committee of £100 may be used appropriately & when necessary in furtherance of the objectives of the Alliance.


8.(e) Lyver Trophy account
In running the Lyver Trophy the joint committee of the Alliance & RDYC shall approve expenditure below £1000. In excess of this approval of the management committee is required.
