Liverpool Sailing Club

Liverpool Sailing Club is located on the banks of the upper Mersey at Speke - close to Liverpool Airport. The club was established in 1958 by a small group of individuals interested in dinghy racing.

Following an arson attack in 1999, the clubhouse was destroyed. Funding for a new Clubhouse was obtained and new building work was completed in 2008. HRH The Princess Royal performed the opening ceremony during that year.

We now have one of the premier water sports facilities in the North west.

Originally established as a dinghy sailing club, the LSC has developed over the years to cater for all forms of water borne activities. It now provides facilities for the launching and storage  of dinghies, small yachts, trailer sailers, power boats, fishing boats, and kayaks. We also host an annual cross river swimming event and cater for a small hovercraft fleet.

Our 1000 foot slipway (the only one on the North Shore of the River Mersey) allows access to the river at all stages of the tide. This, coupled with a great location, makes 'LSC' the one of best places on the river to get afloat. We enjoy access to challenging sailing waters which stretch 8 miles up river and 10 miles downstream.
